Canadian man creates his ideal eco-friendly woodland hideaway from three shipping containers

Imagine having your very own home-away-from-home complete with under-floor heating, wood burning stove, a fully-fitted kitchen and shower.  Add in the fact that it costs virtually nothing to run, because all your electricity comes from solar panels.

This dream became a reality for 29 year old Canadian Joseph Dupuis - an engineer at Algonquin College in Ottawa researching renewable energy - when he purchased three shipping containers and converted them into a woodland hideaway 35 miles west of Ottawa.

Extra commercial storage needed at short notice in multiple locations - container hire project

Extra commercial storage needed at short notice in multiple locations - container hire project

This shipping container also has double doors at one 8ft end allowing ease of access for forklifts, permitting access from the side and end of the container. This is a C.S.C plated shipping container.

Sweaty workshops are a thing of the past - check out these air conditioned workshops made from shipping containers!

In these hot summer months I'm sure there are many a DIY enthusiast - or even workplaces - who are resenting the lovely sunny weather we've been having recently.  After all, who wants to spend hours working in a stuffy, hot workshop when you could be chilling out under the air conditioning!  Now, thanks to some clever engineering from Containers and More, you can have a fully air-conditioned workshop in the back garden made entirely from recycled shipping containers!

From the outside this looks like a standard shipping container - although it can easily be adapted to blend in with your local environment, including full timber cladding.  Workshops can also be adapted to include secure windows and personnel doors - just about anything you might need.
